PK Announces Seven Big Events in ‘07 - What Will the Impact Be?

Promise Keepers announced a new approach to their conference season this year, with 7 of their traditional arena events, and a new set of small conferences called CityCenter events and PK Selects. They are also going to make much of their past content available online via webcasting (for an example, see Man in the Mirror’s extensive webcasting site).

This could have an interesting impact on the way many leaders disciple their men this year. With less PK events, church leaders may look elsewhere for the big “catalytic event.” Some might make a renewed effort to have a men’s retreat in their church. Other ministries may step into the gap left and offer alternatives. Maybe the seven events will be even more well-attended because there will be fewer offered this year. Or maybe the era of the “big event” is just on its way out.

What do you think?

  1. Jon Harmon Says:

I believe that smaller events have a better chance of capturing momentum than do larger events, and it is easier to follow with right next steps for those men and leaders. Working through the local church is the key. The Lord has provided me with a way to develop a six hour seminar based on the book NO MAN LEFT BEHIND from Man In The Mirror. I have been able to reach out to small groups of leaders across denominational lines. Idaho Man in the Mirror is in the process of putting together 8 regions in Idaho with regional leaders, trained in taking the 6-hour seminar across the state. We have revised our goal to training 400 leaders by the end of 2010 to reach 15000 men with a credible offer of Jesus Christ and the resources to grow.
